A collection of thirty-four previously published papers, some of them outstanding, this is the revised edition of a smaller book with the same title and make-up published in 1924 and edited by Dr. J. S. Van Teslaar. Like the previous edition, this book has as its purpose the presentation of a group of selections for the lay reader that represent, in Dr. Thompson's opinion, the important 'schools' of psychoanalytic thought.

The book is not an outline, but an anthology or reader, the title, identical with An Outline of Psychoanalysis, in the real sense of the
