The authors discuss some of their techniques in the training of psychotherapists. With a group of workers in a family casework agency they emphasized the relation between worker and client. With a second group, consisting of general practitioners at the Tavistock Clinic, special attention was paid to the meaning of the patients' illnesses. These methods are briefly contrasted with traditional psychoanalytic training.
