This paper, consisting of two parts1 of Schneider's extensive study of the subject, discusses the sonic aspects of the image of the heart as manifested in dreams and in projection to external real objects. In sleep this sonic image is released from its ties to other more definite ego images. The image of the heart has importance for physiology and pathology.
