This paperbound book is a collection of papers by sixteen authors of widely varied interests, all of whom had been asked to contribute. It is unclear for what type of reader the book was intended. The practicing analyst would find that a number of the papers reveal nothing new. To those who have the interest and time, the last part, entitled Philosophy and Religion, is the most rewarding. This section
comprises contributions from such philosophers as Abraham Kaplan, Jacques Maritain, Reinhold Niebuhr, and Jerome S. Bruner. Of special interest is an article, Psychoanalysis and the History of Art, by E. H. Gombrich, and a short article by Gregory Zilboorg, The Changing Concept of Man In Present-Day Psychiatry.
