The author suggests a specific technique for speeding up the production of pertinent anamnestic material in an extension of his previously described vector therapy. In this technique reference is made to some immediate sensory impression of the patient which is felt by the therapist to be specifically related to his symptom complex. Through this means associations are stimulated which should theoretically be more closely related to the patient's specific difficulties. Case material substantiating this is presented. The author suggests that this technique will greatly 'facilitate the clarification of the meaning of symptoms'.
