This brief and interesting note considers data presently available on the subject of voodoo or other psychologically induced death. The author feels that there is insufficient evidence to confirm the existence of such a cause of death, and believes poisoning, starvation, or dehydration to be the cause. Theories that hypothesize 'voodoo death' as due to overstimulation of the sympathico-adrenal system are premature.
