Freeman divides narcissism in schizophrenia into two categories. 1, Psychotic narcissism, which is a functional state represented through delusions, hallucinations,
etc., that are not compromise formations but instead are processes of excitation and discharge resulting from the processes. 2. Nonpsychotic narcissism, which appears during the prepsychotic phase as well as during the illness and is similar to that encountered in sexual deviations and character abnormalities.
