This chapter offers a succinct, annotated review of Freud's theoretical writings on subjects related to puberty and adolescent development. The author, in concluding, notes how well Freud's concepts have stood the test of time, but also notes that much work has been done more recently in elucidating aspects of adolescent development not discussed by Freud.
