It is with deep regret that we inform our readers of the death of William W. Meissner, S.J., M.D., on April 16, 2010, following a brief illness. A longstanding and much-treasured member of the Boston psychoanalytic and religious communities, Dr. Meissner was University Professor of Psychoanalysis at Boston College and a Training and Supervising Analyst Emeritus at the Psychoanalytic Institute of New England, East, at the time of his death. A Jesuit priest and scholar, a gifted psychoanalyst, and prolific contributor to the literature of both disciplines, he will be profoundly missed.
