Love has its roots in the past, is a force of individuation, and promotes how to be—it is connected to being; hence the title, Transference, Love, Being: Essential Essays from the Field. As Celenza points out in the last essay “’Yes and….’ Dreams,” she invites the creation of a field between author and reader (p. 1681), mirroring the emotional dimension—the field—created by the patient and the analyst in the analytic process.
