The Psychoanalytic Quarterly suffered a tremendous loss in February 2025 with the passing of our former editor in chief, Lucy LaFarge. As Wendy Katz and Daria Colombo wrote in their obituary in the July 2025 issue, the enduring weight of Lucy’s impact on the Quarterly far exceeds the limited years of her tenure, which was cut short due to a recurrence of cancer. While we miss her presence, Lucy’s influence continues to live on in many ways, including the contributions she made to protecting patient confidentiality in clinical writing and in selecting and training the team of associate editors whose dedication and expertise remains one of the most valuable resources of the Quarterly.
2025 saw the departure of Jane Tillman, one of the original associate editors assembled by Lucy LaFarge and the acting editor in chief at the time that I ascended to that role. I remain personally grateful for her clarity, competence, and good humor as she helped with my onboarding, and for her years of dedication to the Quarterly, both as associate editor and member of the editorial board. In Jane’s place, I’m pleased to announce that Johanna Malone has joined our team of associate editors this year. Johanna is a longstanding member of the Quarterly’s editorial board and has served for over a decade as an associate editor for Psychoanalytic Psychology. She brings a wealth of expertise to the role and has already made significant contributions to the editorial process and to our team; we look forward to many productive years ahead.
Two members of the editorial board chose to step down this year, Judith Chused and Elaine Zickler. We wish them both well and thank them for their many contributions to the Journal over the years.
As 2026 begins, we are pleased to welcome a number of new full members to the editorial board: Sarah Ackerman, Joseph Aguayo, Rachel Boué-Widawsky, Jenny Kaufmann, Amy Levy, Masha Mimran, Kannan Navaratnem, John Rosegrant, Jill Salberg, and Lissa Weinstein.
