To the Editor:
A review of my book The Trouble with Blame: Victims, Perpetrators, and Responsibility appearing in Psychoanalytic Books (8, 343-345) states, “At age six she was being mercilessly tickled by a young boy until, over the course of several years, this boy went further, putting his hand into the girl's panties and fondling her genitals.” The actual book states only, “There was a teenage boy who, when I was only six, carried me away to his cellar by tickling me, and there put his hand in my underpants.” The reviewer inaccurately revised my personal history.
