This paper is a report on a longitudinal interview study of a group of Israeli and a group of Palestinian children. Each of these quotations comes from (now) young adults we have known for many years who are among the most outspoken advocates for a peaceful resolution. Each of them continues to experience considerable struggle and suffering internally and with their peers and their families, to arrive at a personal position on the conflict. We have been privileged to know something about the nature of their personal struggles and their familial and social context.
