The publication of this issue of Psychoanalytic Dialogues, 31:6 marks our first year at the helm of the journal. We are delighted with how the first six issues have unfolded, and grateful for the tremendous help from our editorial and production teams that have allowed us to present first-rate work that sets the bar for innovation and scholarship in psychoanalytic publishing. We are thankful to all the authors and discussants, to the contributors whose manuscripts moved through our peer review process, and to our mentors, colleagues, students and friends for their inspiration and support. To curate a journal with a wealth of terrific material and an engaged readership is a great privilege. To receive so much encouragement for our mission to broaden the journal’s conversation while reaffirming its thirty year-long contribution is a great honor.
In this endeavor, we were able to rely on a strong editorial board that works tirelessly to keep the journal lively and current. Our board members provide blind peer reviews of manuscirpts and also act as “shepherds,” integrating editorial feedback into reports that guide our conversations with authors — their willingness, in turn, to collaborate on revisions pays tribute to this enormous collaborative endeavor. In addition to these editorial contributions, board members also scout papers, participate in working groups that generate new content, and weigh in on how best to grow the journal. Their contributions mostly go unnamed, but their importance cannot be underestimated.
As we move into 2022, we are thrilled to welcome an extraordinary, diverse and distinguished group of editors to our board. Their innovative scholarship, writing, and creative vision will undoubtedly enrich our journal, and help to generate novel discourse, stimulate thought and bring an international and interdisciplinary perspective that challenges psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Dialogues to grow in new and crucial ways.
