I am presenting my responses to the discussants individually as each discussion is written from a different perspective. In each one, I address the author’s associations and queries that prodded me to reconsider certain questions I had asked myself, or, neglected to ask, thus deepening my understanding of S and the immense suffering he endured. Taking these three commentaries individually and collectively creates a rich tapestry of S’s kaleidoscopic selves, evolving from his pseudo self to his developing real self.
