In my reply to Asibong and Yi, I generate connecting points to each respondent while simultaneously attempting to bridge gaps where there is distance. Within the frame of how each interpreted my paper, I expand and constrict accordingly. I attempt to integrate aspects from each respondent, as it pertains to their impact on what I had hoped to communicate about depathologized melancholia in an effort to de-center the role of whiteness as an abstract psychic force-field binding the Other, and instead center the culture of the Other as that which can never truly be mourned, in the multifaceted ways that one connects to their home of origin.
