Responding to Erica Ehrenberg’s paper, “Every Force Evolves a Form: On Artistic Process, Psychoanalysis, and Psychic Freedom,” the author details her experience of a “closed form” evolving when her studio apartment and virtual-work space became PINKBEAM, a domestic art space open to the public. Drawing on Ehrenberg’s discussion of artistic process and Philip Guston’s grotesquely profound painting, Head and Bottle , the author explores the impact that two of PINKBEAM’s artworks had on herself and a patient.
