BY REMAINING FOCUSED ON CLINICAL DATA AND THE BASIC CLINICAL concepts of psychoanalysis, Joseph Sandler developed a pluralistic approach to psychoanalysis at a time when psychoanalysis was burdened by a polarization of models and theory. Sandler was one of the few analysts of his time who contributed to the onset of the changing face of psychoanalysis. His gift has helped psychoanalysts define a vision of a pluralistic psychoanalysis for this century.
