In this issue we have Presented “Alone Together: The case of Judy and Ann,” together with five discussions by prominent analysts each representing a different framework and approach to clinical work. We have attempted to compare and contrast these contributions, always with a mind to the issue to follow in which five other clinicians offer five additional essays on the same case material. The device we used here was to take a single episode and compare the discussions in terms of that episode. Although the approach we will use in the issue to follow will be similar, we will also attempt to compare all of the discussions in terms of a contemporary psychoanalytic conceptualization, that is, from a complexity theory perspective.
We trust you have benefited, as we have, from the combined wisdom of these authors and that you look forward to receiving issue 2.
