Love Is the Great Educator: Response to Richard Frank and Mel Bornstein

Anton Kris, M.D. (deceased), a Professor of Psychiatry, part-time, at Harvard Medical School, was a psychiatrist for over 55 years, a psychoanalyst for over 50 years, and a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute for 40 years. He is the author of Free Association: Method and Process, published in 1982, and numerous papers on the topic of free association. Dr. Kris served on the editorial boards of several of the major psychoanalytic journals. He also served on the board of trustees of The Anna Freud Centre, The Anna Freud Foundation, and the Sigmund Freud Archives, of which he was Executive Director six years ago. He received the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award of the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society. He regarded himself as more a teacher than an innovator.
