Everyday misogyny is a surface symptom of social complacence that may well condone more severe common assaultive attitudes aimed at the female body. As an example, some attitudes towards legislating abortion will be contemplated. The thesis is developed that not only there exists the age-old and storied erasure of the female body by men, but there can also be a co-created underlying disavowal of body ownership in women. The combination intensifies abuses of female autonomy. In turn, this is likely fueled by a widely shared unconscious particular fear and horror of the procreative birthing body that seems socio-legally to ignite a desire for control over its functioning.
