In this presentation, Dr. Blank a former Army psychiatrist in Vietnam and VA psychiatrist, sets out core concepts of psychoanalytic psychotherapy for PTSD. Dr. Blank first explains how trauma events are unprocessed in the mind. He asserts disorders resulting from trauma are processing disorders. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is, therefore, helpful by enabling capacities to process the trauma and ultimately heal.
