The author reviews practical and psychoanalytic features relevant to the need to convert in-room therapy and psychoanalysis to online platforms. She draws on the experience of her own analysis that included both in-room and distance segments to comment on the use of the differing experiences to enlarge the meaning, and on anxieties of both analysand and analyst in this shift in modalities. In doing so, she employs the theoretical ideas of Jose Bleger on the meaning of the frame to represent the earliest pre-verbal experiences and disruptions that stem from that developmental period of life.
