Dear Editors,
It was very exciting to read the inaugural issue of Psychoanalytic Perspectives. It certainly fostered my “openness, playfulness, and creativity” (Psychoanalytic Perspectives, Vol. 1, No. 1, p. 5). There was a wealth of fascinating, relevant clinical detail in many of the articles, which were written in a clear, succinct style with the minimum of obfuscating jargon. I particularly enjoyed the paper by Owen Renik and the two responses to his paper.
There is one area that I wished the editors had included in their list of topics, namely, personal experiences of treatment from the perspective of the client. I applaud the inclusion of fiction and poetry in the journal and would like to suggest that the editors consider whether some of these contributions could come from clients and reflect their experiences.
