I met the love of my life in India in 2006. He proposed in 2007, and we fought hard to get him to Australia. He didn’t make it, and was married off by his family in 2010. We are still very connected. I had this dream a year later.
I wrote this poem in one sitting in about 10 minutes. I was waiting to see a counselor about a work issue. This dream is still very vivid in my mind 2½ years after I dreamt it. Later I went to rewrite it in a more “sophisticated” manner, but decided to leave it as is. So here it is … raw.
A clearing in the jungleGreat green leaves jammed in togetherIn canopies and arches mangledAnd dripping with steamy weather
Brown dirt oval shapedAnd there he was on a chairRed angry faces half-bakedWhy is he still sitting there?
