Dear Alexander,
You don’t know me, but I am writing to ask you to be my very first
contact outside my pod once the pandemic lifts.
I am incredibly fortunate to not have been personally affected by Covid-19, and while I know it’s not essential, it has been 18 months since my last professional haircut.
I packed three things when I temporarily left NYC—a thermometer, bottles of hand sanitizer (how I was able to procure those is a story for another day) and … my hair cutting shears.
Yes I have been cutting my own hair by following the shape of my last salon cut but the shape keeps shifting and it isn’t pretty.
So, how, you might ask, did I find you?
In between sessions, (I’m a psychotherapist),
I took luxurious virtual strolls through New York City’s salon web sites.
And there you were! At the aptly named Renaissance Salon.
