As of March 1993, Psychoanalytic Abstracts replaces a previous publication of the American Psychological Association, PsycSCAN: Psychoanalysis. Like PsycSCAN, Psychoanalytic Abstracts is a quarterly publication that provides abstracts and summaries on psychoanalytic topics from three major sources of information: books, chapters, and serials. Psychoanalytic Abstracts includes indexes in the first three issues each year, and an annual index in the fourth issue of the year. The March issue contains summaries of books and chapters; the September issue contains abstracts on psychoanalytic topics from nonanalytic journals. Psychoanalytic Psychology and other psychoanalytic journals are abstracted and indexed in the publication's June and December issues.
