J. Ghannam's (2005) comment reveals just how necessary a global “talking cure” is, not just for people outside the field of psychoanalysis but for practitioners within it and related fields as well. One challenge for an international psychoanalysis with regard to the political scene is to devise guidelines that will help analysts to deal with the anger that leads less to truth than to its retreat.
