The author has presented us in this work with a fine phenomenological description of various mental situations, but from our point of view with very little that is concrete and can be taken hold of in what might be called, rather, unfortunately, a practical way. It gives us an excellent view of psychotic behavior, but not much real understanding of it. The author tends rather to develop in the philosophical direction than that of the clinical psychiatrist.
