A work on nervous and mental diseases for nurses, which according to the publisher's statement had three reprintings of its first edition, this being its second edition.
The principal thing that strikes one in this book is the really highly technical and relatively elaborate sort of information which is now being transmitted to the nurse as compared to the situation at the beginning of the century. This book contains approximately the same sort of matei ial that a quiz compend on nervous and mental disease would have contained when the reviewer was a medical student. Now this amount of information goes to the nurse. It is an extraordinary index of advance. Medical education is being elaborated along these very lines and so, obviously from this book, is the nurses' education. The author has done a very good job. It remains to see whether the nurse is quite equal to assimilating the dose which he administers.
