The publishers say of this volume, “We find the material treated is here solidly imbedded in the rock of modern psychology, interspersed with the florilegia of poetic intuition. Taking for his concrete picture and analogy the flow of a river, he traces the course of love from its source to its outlet through all its meanderings.” Were not the florilegia so profuse and the meanderings so extensive, the book might have some slight value for those laymen who prefer their psychology in sugar-coated form.
