This monograph is a thesis presented for the doctorate at Harvard University. It is concerned with the statistical measurement of certain traits that are usually supposed to be aspects of the personality. By a multiplicity of such studies we may sometime arrive at a formula for describing the personality, but such a day is far distant.
The book bears evidence of careful work and, aside from the elaborate statistical discussions which occupy the bulk of it, is quite readable. But the psychiatrist untrained in statistical method will probably find most of it unintelligible.
