This somewhat enigmatic or ambiguous title refers to the fact that the behaviorist philosophy, the which he would take a crack at, has completed its first quarter of a century and needs some professional attention.
Dr. Roback devotes some 256 page to the matter, mostly bibliography, which after all is said and done is about all that the situation demands, according to the author.
Thus he finds little to commend in the behaviorist movement especially in that aspect of it more specifically labelled or libeled Watsonian. Our own inclinations lean a bit in the author's main direction. We do hold, however, that there have been some very notable adherents and that behaviorism shorn of some of its earlier rash assumptions and cleared of its conditioned reflex trappings has something to contribute to the general psychological march of events.
Had the author presented some actual experimental work anent the problems we should be more convinced of his position; as it is we find it but a dissenting essay that for us got us nowhere; except as noted—the Bibliography.
