We welcome this new edition of Dr. Jones’ papers on psychoanalysis, not only as offering a comprehensive view of the author's development in this special field, but also as expository of Dr. Freud's own findings. Thus beginning 26 years ago the first edition began to unfold a most engaging panorama of the psychoanalytic landscape and during the successive editions Dr. Jones has offered us some 80 views in all. Twenty papers of Edition III have been eliminated and twelve new ones introduced.
