More and more is it becoming obvious that faulty speech development and poor hearing are closely correlated and often that which appears to be mental deficiency is more technically partial deafness.

This is but the beginning of a more detailed examination into the forest of speech defects. The authors know their way about. They mark out the main pathways and indicate with care even the smallest bypaths. We find it an intelligent and useful book. The reproduction of oral conformations in speech production are specially informing.

When it is realized that at least 4 million children in the United States are handicapped in the use of speech much more should be done about it.
