This is a “Student's Edition” and is subtitled “Practical Aspects of Mental Hygiene”. Its authors are Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California and Professor of Education at the Broadoaks School of Education.
It is very easy reading, amiable, optimistic, quite full (over 400 pages) and has an ample bibliography of similar and more technical works. There are helpful thumbnail reviews of the bibliographical items. Its scope is wide and covers the problems of childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. It is not a work to which one can apply a rigid scientific examination. It is as good a book for the lay reader as any this reviewer has seen.
