The author reviews the history of the church in connection with health and healing. The essential aim of this volume seems to be the presenting of modern psychological data to the church for its use by the church. The author has a wide knowledge of what is going on in the field of mental hygiene. There is considerable detail and advice given on the use of this knowledge. Some of the chapter headings convey readily the scope and ground covered: What Mental Hygiene Teaches the Church, Mental Health and Religious Education, Pastoral Counseling, Pastoral Work and Community Resources, Ministering to the Sick.
