This volume has eleven collaborators. There are 49 contributors to 49 topics. The work is divided into six sections; Introductory, Induction, Administration and Disposition, Clinical Entities, Prophylaxis and Therapy, and Special Topics. The end result is the most extensive, if not the most intensive, volume on military neuropsychiatry that this reviewer has seen. The authors are mostly officers in the armed forces and hence psychiatry and neurology are presented from the military point of view. The choice of authors is fairly authoritative. There is no doubt that this will be a widely used volume in the armed forces long before this review appears. The thorough sixty-seven page index should prove most helpful. The leather binding is soft and the corners are rounded. It fits tightly into an overcoat pocket. Civilian physicians will find it useful for special military data but no doubt will prefer the usual texts and journals for general neuropsychiatric purposes. [A. N. F.]
