The Atlas, consisting of stereoscopic photographic views and orienting labeled line drawings, includes those brain structures considered by the authors to be most useful in teaching neuroanatomy. Beginning with the embryological formations, the development of the brain, and the principal topographical features are demonstrated in an orderly progression. The various stages of gross dissection are illustrated in a way to be most helpful to the student engaged in such procedures.
A booklet of 19 pages outlines and directs dissection for those who have specimens available. It should be of particular value to students of biology and medicine and also serve the purpose for postgraduate reviews in preparation for American Board examinations in neurology and psychiatry. The authors are to be congratulated on this successful presentation of the essentials of gross neuroanatomy.
