This small paper covered booklet has been prepared with the intention of promoting better care for children in institutions. It is up to date in contents and the text is easily read without the extra effort that is often necessary to wade through “guide books”. There are eighteen special topics dealing with a wide variety of issues including the attitudes of the house mothers, house fathers, group behavior, the personal health and habits of children, work, play, sex, religion and adjustments to various interpersonal situations.
Not only is this a most valuable monograph for those in charge of children in institutions but it should be read by every parent and school teacher as it is factual, containing very little controversial material.
