This collection consists of 53 articles by almost as many authors, written for various purposes and at different times. They are very uneven and extremely repetitive. After all, among psychologists working in mental hospitals, guidance clinics, institutions for defectives, prisons, etc., there are many more similarities than differences. If each of them writes about his work without comparing it with the work of psychologists working in different institutions, repetitions are unavoidable. This is made worse by the editor's attempt to give a semblance of unity to the variety of purposes and styles by his summarizing articles which review the other articles. The book is not complete and systematic enough to help the beginner and it is too vague to aid the expert.
