This is a novel told in what is usually considered to be the psychiatric style. The author himself is a psychiatrist and has some feeling for psychiatric problems. Unfortunately his style is not clear, nor is the story illustrative of any really clear solution of a psychiatric problem. As a matter of fact, it is difficult to understand just what the message is which the author is attempting to convey.
So far as this reviewer is concerned, The Lattice Window is neither a good psychiatric history nor romantic novel.
