One finds in this book the detailed authentic story of the life and migration of the prairie Indians by Grant Foreman who spent many years in careful research on various Indian customs, laws, and the mistakes of the white man's government in dealing with them. The mismanagement of Indian affairs during the early years by our agents and representatives makes a sorry tale that removes a considerable amount of the undeserved glamour surrounding the motives and activities of ruling white men. The scenes of this tremendous drama of human beings stretching across the United States make exceedingly interesting reading that should be read by all intelligent persons in America. It contains much of importance concerning the expression of human trends and emotions. The text is well supplemented with several maps, a bibliography and footnotes.
