This book recognizes that marriages fail and proceeds to aid the marital partners in determining whether their particular marriage bears the characteristics of the usual failures. Its tone is serious and adult but not scolding. Questions and tests by which a marriage may be viewed are provided. The author suggests that there are no generalities to be applied to this issue, each case having its own peculiar problems and its own peculiar solution, which may or may not be a happy one.
Once a decision to undertake the step is reached, grounds, jurisdictions, means, state regulations are discussed to give assistance to a troubled person, to avoid common pitfalls in this situation. [M. C. A. L.]
