This monograph contains a discussion of the traumatically engendered mental disorders. Its historical scope extends from the time of Hippocrates to the present and covers all aspects of the problems resulting from craniocerebral traumata. It points out that mental disorders precipitated by trauma are relatively frequent, but that the hospitalization of such cases is rather rare. Apparently some 90% of these traumatized patients suffer a permanent loss in working efficiency in some degree if not totally. Forensic aspects of these problems are brought into the foreground making the book especially valuable for the general practitioner. The various syndromes are well outlined making it an excellent treatise for the student and a reliable source of reference for the specialist.
