The American Psychiatric Association held its 108th Annual Meeting at Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, May 12-16, 1952.
Dr. Leo H. Bartemeier of Detroit, Michigan, A.P.A. President, called the 5-day meeting to order at Convention Hall at 9:30 a.m., Monday, May 12. The scientific program started at 2 p.m. that afternoon and continued through Friday, May 16.
Over 100 scientific papers on recent developments in psychiatry were presented this year, together with psychiatric films and scientific exhibits.

A dinner in honor of Dr. Clarence P. Oberndorf, distinguished psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, on the occasion of his seventieth birthday was given him by his friends and colleagues on Friday evening, February 15. 1952 at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
Dr. H. Beckett Lang, assistant commissioner of mental hygiene since 1941, has announced that he will retire to private practice June 1 after 28 years in state service.
The appointment of Granvill Hills as assistant director of personnel in the State Department of Mental Hygiene was announced by Dr. Newton Bigelow, Commissioner. The appointment, made from a civil service list established recently by competitive examination for the position of director of personnel and applicable also to the position of assistant director,
