This volume is essentially devoted to the presentation of three relatively lengthy case histories of women suffering from chronic alcoholism. The author himself agrees that “not all alcoholic women are as difficult or as promiscuous” as these described and further stresses that he has collected another group of chaste and faithful wives who also drink. These points should be stressed since many reviews of this volume have condemned it for its emphasis on the sexual side and when one realizes that this is only one type of problem, the volume makes better sense.
