The Board of Editors is pleased to announce that the Clement Staff Memorial Award of $300 has been equally divided between Carl P. Malmquist, M.D. for his essay, “Problems of Methodology and Theory Construction in Psychoanalysis,’ and Helm Stierlin, M.D., for his essay, “Aspects of Relatedness in the Psychotherapy of Schizophrenia.’ Dr. Malmquist is a member of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Stierlin, formerly a staff psychiatrist at Chestnut Lodge, is now at the Bellevue Sanitarium, Kreuzlingen, Switzerland.
The Clement Staff prize for the best clinical or theoretical paper in psychoanalysis is awarded yearly in memory of Clement Staff, former Editor of Psychoanalysis, which merged with the Review in 1958. (Authors please note that hereafter all papers published, rather than accepted, during a given year will be deemed eligible for that year's award.)
