Studies of Walt Whitman are considerable in number, but bibliographies appear in scattered reviews either sporadically or in excessive abundance. In these reviews we find critical studies which have exposed many facets of Walt Whitman's writings and have examined carefully his personality structure. Even though studies have been made on the psychological and/or psychoanalytical aspects of Walt Whitman, to date no bibliographies have been published in these areas. The purpose of this bibliography is to provide interested scholars with enough facts to better understand Walt Whitman's “inner drama” and to venture into “paths untrodden.”
