This volume contains publications from the years 1931-1968 of an outstanding psychoanalyst. It reflects a lifetime of creative commitment to her profession, with its three aspects: therapy, research, and teaching. The foreword by George Pollock of the Institute for Psychoanalysis, Chicago, with which Benedek was affiliated for most of her professional career, provides a view of her background and her associations with many of the well-known personalities in the early days of psychoanalysis. She was analyzed by Sandor Ferenczi and did control work with Karl Abraham and Max Eitingon, commuting from her residence in Leipzig to Berlin for this purpose.
